#InstaTrend: Learn How To Use Instagram To Become A Bit Of A Beauty Expert
4 mins read
We’re going to jump the gun here and take a wild guess—you’re aware of this photo sharing app called Instagram. If you haven’t, please crawl back under that rock you came from. Just kidding! Okay, but seriously; there’s a good chance that you spend a great deal of your free time scrolling through your Instagram newsfeed, trolling your favorite celebrity, or learning a few tricks when it comes to makeup, nail art (we know we do).
In fact, the portal is the source of quite a few of our trending beauty and fitness stories. While big brands are in your face almost everywhere you go, Instagram is the place to be for some originality—it’s about the trendsetters, not followers.
That said, it’s not easy to tell diamonds from coal, which is why, we have a few pointers to help you find just what you need from the riffraff.
Follow Makeup Artists Or Beauty Bloggers: As much as this may go against your Instagram rules, if you want the low-down on all the latest launches, color trends, or even celebrity favorites, you’re going to have to make an exception.

Follow Cool Brands & Explore: Okay, on social media, for the most part, you just have to wing it. You’re never going to discover a truly uniquely wonderful product if you don’t follow the frontrunners in the industry. A healthy mix of 30:70 is a good bet (30% new and experimental labels, 70 percent from the tried and tested lot).

Rummage Through Beauty-Specific Hashtags: If you’re looking for something in particular, your best bet is to just search for that specific hashtag. Trust us, you’ll be surprised by how much you can learn. #SunburnArt #EyebrowCuts #FightTheFrizz #GrannyHair, #AquariumNails are just some of the many we stumbled upon and absolutely loved.
Pay Attention To The Comments: Okay, to be fair, most comments will have people tagged in them, or random bots promising followers, but, if you want honest reviews without celebrity endorsement, you need to pay attention. People can often be quite honest, making the comments section the best way to gauge the quality and effectiveness of the product.
Finally, it’s important to remember that Instagram is nothing but another search engine, except, it caters to the frivolous and superficial searches. And no, we’re not undermining its popularity. It does serve a specific purpose, and we suggest you make the most of it!
