Peppermint is the perfect essential oil to use regularly in high temperature climates. Inherently cooling, peppermint oil brightens and invigorates the skin, and its essence refreshes the spirit. Use a homemade peppermint cleanser 3-4 times weekly to enliven your complexion and cool overheated, sun-damaged skin.
- 1/2 cup sea salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk or whole milk
- 1/4 cup ground oats
- 3-5 drops peppermint essential oil
Gently process all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Texture should not be completely smooth, but slightly coarse (just slightly less coarse than a traditional salt scrub). Use a small amount on the face and neck, rubbing into the skin with small circular motions. Rinse with cool water. Chill excess mixture for later use.
