Her flawless photoshoots would never let on that this 19-year-old model struggled with teen acne.
While it is a perfectly common occurrence, it can prove to have quite the blow to people’s confidence. In a recent interview with Seventeen Magazine, Kendall opened up to say, “I felt like such an outcast; when I spoke, it was often with my hand covering my face.”
Resounding her concerns was Lucy Hale, who also very recently talked about battling with her skin’s imperfections while growing up. “I had more problems with my skin as I was getting older,” says Lucy. Fast-forward to today and the actress says that there’s nothing she can’t fix with a touch of concealer and makeup hacks.
While your cosmetics will help camouflage the problem, to fix it, you have to get underneath its skin. Here are some quick-fix home remedies to help you tackle those pesky pimples.
Tea Tree Oil: Tea tree oil is often used topically for acne, wounds, infections and skin lesions. Use a dilution of 5–15 percent. Apply 2-3 drops to a cotton ball and dab it over your acne; you needn’t wash it off.
Sea Salt: Look for a sea salt-based lotion or cream with less than 1% sodium chloride. Apply it up to six times a day for five minutes each time. Studies show that sea salt has anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties, and protects against harmful ultraviolet radiation.
