Let’s face it, pregnancy is not a walk in the park. The morning sickness, the weird cravings, the crazy hormones — the whole thing can make you feel totally out of control as your little widget grows inside you. All of that is forgotten, however, that first moment when you feel your baby kick. It’s a moment that you’ll never forget and a feeling that you’ll never be able to share —
Huggies recently developed a set of his and hers waist bands, implaneted with feedback sensors that, when worn as a pair, transfer the sensors from the mom’s belt to the dad’s. So when the baby kicks, the dad can feel it too.
Unfortunately, for all you soon-to-be dads out there, the invention won’t be coming on the market any time soon. The diaper manufacterer created the belts for an Argentinian ad to sell diapers. In any case, this video is pretty special, and shows us how technology, when used for good, can truly be a force to connect people in this world. Imagine, for example, stringing it up to the internet and letting deployed dads overseas feel their kiddos at home.
