What does a woman do when she is a sports doctor, 35 weeks pregnant and a mother to a 3-year-old with a husband out of town on gameday? If you’re Dr. Megan Meier of Oklahoma City, you multitask the hell out of it.
Last week, a photo of Meier hit the web showing her more than seven months pregnant, while carrying her 3-year-old daughter on her back, and simultaneously tending to a high school football player. The image is nothing short of awesome, epitomizing the extraordinary way in which mothers manage to figuratively, and literally, do it all.

Dr. Megan Meier works as a sports and dance medicine physician in Oklahoma City and originally shared the photo via Facebook last week, writing, "Sports Medicine Doctor Mom— this is what happens when you are 35 weeks pregnant, husband leaves town for the weekend, childcare for 3yo falls through, and you have a game to cover!" The photo quickly rose to gain 6,000 likes, 300 comments and about 1,400 shares since being posted on September 7th.

In a follow-up post published on her public Facebook page, Meier explained that she shared the photo in a Facebook group for physician moms and intended it to offer “a visual representation of what we all do each and every day,” adding,” I really believe that you can have it all and find a great balance to a multi-faceted career and life. However, it takes a lot of hard work and improvisation at times.”
Couldn’t have said it better. While we know she makes it look quite easy, we know being a mother is no easy feat. So allow Dr. Meier, and the legion of other multitasking moms around the country, to be your extra burst of mommy-inspiration for the day.
