Greens don’t always have to be a burden to add to your diet. The importance of fueling our body and mind with greens is constantly growing and more of us are conscious of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Adding a regular dose of greens to your diet gives you a number of health benefits, such as protecting us from cancer, regulating blood sugar, boosting the immune system and simply keeping our overall health in check.

Whether you add kale to your pizza or blend spinach in your smoothie, you are doing yourself a whole lot of good by incorporating greens into your meals, throughout the day.

10 Easy Ways to Include Greens in Your Diet

Adding greens to your diet doesn’t have to be hard. Here are 10 easy ways you can incorporate greens into your diet:

1. Add Them to Your Eggs

If you’re a fan of having eggs for breakfast, you’re in luck. The next time you’re cooking up a delicious omelet, start with stir-frying your favorite greens in a pan before pouring your egg mixture.

Your eggs will still taste great and help you start your day with a health kick.

2. Sprinkle Them on Your Pizza

Greens taste great on pizza. After adding all your favorite toppings, add tons of leafy greens on the top. Be generous with the greens because as your pizza bakes, the greens actually start to shrink and have a fun, crispy texture to them when you take a bite.

The best part? You won’t have to feel too guilty about loading up on all that cheese.

3. Slip Them into Your Smoothie

Switch up your fruit smoothies and add some spinach or kale to the mix. You won’t notice a big difference, and even if you do, your smoothie will still be just as delicious.

4. Ditch the Tortilla and Use Lettuce

Indulge in your next taco craving with a healthy twist. Switch out the corn or flour tortilla and try lettuce instead. If you’ve never tried this before, you’re in for a treat. You’re not only getting those greens in, you’re also trying out something new.

5. Eat Them in a Dip

Spinach and artichoke dip is a popular snack enjoyed by many. If the restaurants have too much cream and cheese in them, why not make one yourself? You can be in charge of the ingredients and how much greens you put in them.

Grab a bag of chips and try it out; you might not even want to share.

6. Bake Them into Chips

Speaking of chips, why not eat them green? Sprinkle a little olive oil on kale and bake the kale in the oven for a few minutes. You will have satisfying crunchiness with each bite and the bitterness of kale makes a good substitute for salt.

If you’re short on an oven, you have the option to lightly fry the kale in a pan. It still tastes just as good and is healthier than a bag of potato chips.

7. Try Zucchini Noodles

You can either make them yourself or take the easy route and buy them at the store. Zucchini noodles will soon convert you from regular pasta. Add your favorite sauce, meaty or vegetarian, and get ready to up your health game with this tasty meal.

8. Put Them in Your Soup

It’s as simple as that. Dice up your favorite veggies and drop them into your soup to make it ultra nutritious. An added bonus is that the extra greens in your soup will leave you feeling full for a longer amount of time.

9. Make Green Fries

Who can say no to veggie fries? Avocados, beans, and zucchini can be converted into fries. Many restaurants have started serving them, but you can even make them at home. All you have to do is lightly coat them with breadcrumbs and bake (or fry) them until they are ready to enjoy.

10. Add Them to Your Sandwich

Leafy greens go well with condiments. Instead of just adding lettuce to your sandwich, add 1 or 2 different kinds of greens to go in your sandwich. An easy way to take your sandwich game up a notch.
