Extreme Weight Loss Producer Hits The Road With New Weight Loss Book

by Michelle Seekamp
Our good friend JD Roth is a man on a mission: to make people happier and healthier. Over the last decade or so, he has committed himself to not only helping people live fuller lives through dramatic weight loss, but keeping the rest of us thoroughly entertained while he's doing it. He has an infectious enthusiasm for wellness that won't stop, and we're glad.

JD is the executive producer of popular weight loss show Extreme Weight Loss which has helped thousands (ok, probably millions at this point) of people lose weight. He discovered fitness experts Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper, who have gone on to become household names. And this fall we're thrilled that he and award-winning production company 3 Ball Entertainment will be putting their brilliantly healthy minds to good use for our viewers, bringing a new weight loss program to the Z Living network!  The new show is all about helping groups of people tackle their weight loss and health goals, for life. This isn't a fad diet and it's not a gimmick that only those lucky enough to be whisked away to a weight loss ranch for a week can experience. Stay tuned for more on that soon.

In the meantime, you don't have to wait to for the show to premiere to start taking advantage of the wealth of health and wellness knowledge that JD has to offer. In his new book, The Big Fat Truth, he dives deep into eating better, losing weight, and living a fuller life.

Here's the lowdown: While every fat person (yes, “fat person” – there's no sugarcoating in this book) knows that shedding pounds comes from moving more and eating less, that doesn’t begin to get to the root of problem. What makes someone top out at 500 pounds or more – or even carry an extra 20, 30 or 50 pounds – is on the inside.

“Why haven’t you lost weight yet? Please tell me you have a reason. It can’t just be that you are hungry. No one is that hungry. You’re willing to get to the bottom of a carton of ice cream, but are you willing to get to the bottom of why you are overeating? If you’re ever going to transform your body, you need to be,” Roth says in the book’s introduction.

To get the word out about his new book, JD is hitting the pavement and criss-crossing the country to talk to folks about his revolutionary ideas around weight-loss. He's already been featured in an article on Cosmopolitan, sat down with Adam Carolla on his podcast, hosted an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit, and in the coming weeks will be appearing on Sirius XM Radio with Just Jenny, The Real, Extra and much more.

Where does he get the energy? We'll do our best to keep up with him - better start eating our veggies - and bring you even more from this one-man health powerhouse.
