Now knowing this, she is aware of what she is putting in her body and can make a real change to her health.

Being a Type 2 Diabetic is certainly not the life you want to live, and no one knows that better than Maricris who lives with it every day. In the beginning of the episode, Maricris explains that her doctors told her that she is bleeding from the back of the eyes, which could seriously lead her down the path of blindness. After completing the 90-day program, JD tells her and the other contestants, not only has the bleeding stopped, but she is no longer Type 2 Diabetic!

In episode one of the series, JD comes to former ‘Biggest Loser’ contestant Ryan’s house to show him that you can feed the whole family and eat healthy in a quick and cost-effective way. This is one of the most exciting moments from the show, as JD tells Ryan that he can make a healthy, plant-based dinner for five people, in less than ten minutes, for less than $15—all before Ryan can run out and come back with his fast food. One of the most powerful moments in the entire series came when Jill revealed to JD and the rest of the group that she had been suffering from an eating disorder for a long time. JD explained to her that it was not about weight-loss, but about getting your mind and body healthy. After a long talk and some great advice, Jill kept her focus and learned to cope with her eating disorder, leading to one of the most stunning transformations of all.
