Long before newbie celebrities took to kickboxing to stay fit, Jean-Claude Van Damme was showing everyone how it’s done with his martial arts skills. From Bloodsport and Universal Soldier, to Hard Target, and of course, Kickboxer, the actor gained a cult following among action movie lovers who couldn’t wait to see JCVD tear up the screen.
Well, we’re thankful for this throwback that had the actor recreate his dance and fight sequence from the first Kickboxer installment that was released in 1989. In a recent interview with Conan O’Brien, JCVD nails it to the T, and boasts of a taut physique, upstanding glutes, and brawny chest that do the re-enactment more than enough justice.
What’s more, the next edition, Kickboxer: Vengeance, is already underway and will hit screens by 2016. The movie is being directed by John Stockwell, and will star Alain Moussi, Dave Bautista, Georges St-Pierre, and of course, Jean-Claude Van Damme himself.
If you’re wondering if it’s worth getting excited over, well take a look at the interview clip and there won’t be a speck of doubt in your mind.
We dare you to thrust and bust a move like Jean-Claude Van Damme and not break your leg or back. Challenge accepted?
