Side Skaters With Serena Williams

Chalking down a list of our favorite workout moves to be summer-ready, we've decided to add some side skaters to the roster. Why? Well, if you watched Serena Williams in action in the Nike's Revolution in Motion ad then you'd need no explanation.


Seriously, this lady encompasses admirable qualities of grit, determination, passion and excellence and even when we spotted her twerking in Beyoncé's Lemonade, it looked like such a Boss move. And while we're twerking the night away thanks to Bey, Minaj and all those fierce ladies, for our exercise routine, we're taking cue from Jennifer Aniston, trainer Max Barry, JLaw, Gal Gadot, and now Serena. So, let's move on to how you can nail the sexy legs workout.

How To: Do Side Skaters Like Serena
The plyometric exercise is a slimming exercise that stimulates muscle growth by using your body weight while working as a cardio move to get your heart rate up and sweat off the chub around the hamstring, thighs and butt. Make note that you're required to engage your core right through the move so those abs get roped into the workout, too. Side skaters are all about improving balance and agility, so get in sync with your chi and start belting out the move.

Step 1: Get on your exercise mat, bend to skating position and do a small squat.
Step 2: Jump to the right to land on your right foot while simultaneously lifting your left foot and bringing it behind you; your left leg (toes) should barely touch the ground.
Step 3: Bounce into motion as you jump to the left in the same way. This is one rep.

Continue to alternate and do two sets of 20 reps for the desired results.
