Clean eating, healthy living, cutting out refined sugar, dairy, flour, animal proteins and processed foods, staying away from synthetic and artificially colored edibles; all of these messages surround us constantly these days. But when the voice delivering that message is a smart, fun and loving one, perhaps it’s that much easier to sit up and pay attention. Introducing Talia Pollock, who’s invited everyone to her cutely named ‘Party In My Plants
,’ where you can learn how to introduce more plants into your diet without becoming a fanatical health nut and driving your loved ones round the bend.
In Talia’s words, “Being healthy doesn’t have to suck. Like, it’s possible to drink green juice AND drink cocktails. It’s do-able to eat quinoa AND online date. It’s really ok to not eat dairy AND still go to music festivals. Being healthy and being happy doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive.”
She has devoted her time, energy and experience towards helping people live satisfying lives and make healthy dietary choices. She’s not just talking through her hat either, as a professional plant-based chef and a certified health coach she delivers powerful and sometimes life-altering messages. But thanks to also being a professional comedian
who has performed stand-up all throughout NYC and worked with the likes of David Letterman and Adam Sandler, she manages to make you laugh even while teaching you how to use her incredible collection of easy and enjoyable tips and tricks to “boost your healthiness without compromising your happiness.”
Of course, she didn’t always know the things she now does. Talia shares her story of how she stumbled upon a healthy diet out of necessity after years and years of feeling like total crap. She struggled with difficult to diagnose digestive distress, food addictions, weight issues, chronic lack of energy, emotional problems and a hell of a lot of anxiety. She visited every healer short of Doctor Oz and tried every pill, test, supplement, herb, powder and positive affirmation she could find. Even after that she felt like she was doomed to an existence marked by belly aches, bingeing, bloating, depression, and anxiety attacks.
All this changed the moment she dined at a Santa Monica restaurant that served only plants. She switched to clean eating
and made all the right changes, her body healed almost immediately but soon she found herself miserable again. It was difficult to stay healthy and still be happy without being able to attend parties or to date. That’s when she managed to strike a fabulous balance between being healthy and staying happy. She managed to find ways to hack healthy eating so that she didn’t dread it anymore and didn’t stay at home drinking her kombucha
and snacking on seed crackers.
She’s more than willing to share her secrets and guide you on your path to a happier and healthier you. Best of all, we love her easy-going, fun, and slightly crazy (in a good way) philosophy, “Breathe. Smile. It’s all going to be ok. It’s just grapefruit. It’s just a chia seed. It’s just bok choy. Relax, smile, eat plants and do the best you can. The rest will fall into place as your life becomes one fabulous party!”
