With the gamut of fast food and candy available, we wouldn’t blame you for giving in to the temptation every now and then. However, overdoing such food can lead to stomach ache and indigestion. Luckily, the cure could be in your kitchen itself. Use these, to soothe an upset tummy.
- Apple Cider Vinegar: Indigestion prevents the stomach from producing enough acid. An extra dose of acid with apple cider vinegar will make things move smoothly again. Add 1-2 tsp to a glass of lukewarm water, and drink it.
- Peppermint: The menthol in peppermint leaves is a natural analgesic, and relieves stomach ache. You can directly chew some leaves or make yourself a cup of tea with it. Try Peppermint Sun Tea, Peppermint-Licorice Tea or this Peppermint, Fennel & Lemon Balm Tea.
- Ginger: This powerful anti-inflammatory food eases stomach burns quickly. As ginger chews can be pungent, try Iced Ginger Tea or Carrot Ginger Soup.
- Raw Honey: Raw honey is loaded with enzymes like diastase, invertase, catalase, glucose oxidase, acid phosphatase and inulase, which aid in digestion. Mix 1 tbsp of honey in one glass of luke warm water and drink it. You can also try Dandelion Honey.
- Papaya: This bright fruit contains digestive enzymes papain and chymopapain, which promote easy digestion. Have some fresh papaya or try Honey-Dipped Papaya. You can also go for papaya enzyme capsules.
