Yogic Diet: Stewed Apple With Nutmeg & Cinnamon

by Z Living Kitchen
  • Level: Beginner

  • 1 medium-large apple, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch chunks
  • 1tsp honey
  • A pinch of cinnamon powder
  • A pinch of nutmeg powder

Here’s a quick version of the classic stewed apple recipe. Enjoy this mildly spiced jelly with toast, warm waffles, or pancakes. You can also have it with some oatmeal or low-sugar cereal and yogurt, or use it as a sweet element to go with ham or pork. Since it contains honey, it’s best consumed fresh (do not refrigerate).

  1. Steam apple and mash it lightly with a fork.
  2. Add honey and mix well.
  3. Sprinkle cinnamon powder and nutmeg powder before serving.
