A diet rich in fruits and vegetables will keep your body functioning in a healthy manner. Fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, and other essential nutrients that help fight disease and other harmful illnesses.

Studies have shown that foods such as tomatoes are high in lycopene, an antioxidant that can help lower your risk of developing prostate cancer. Foods such as salmon and other fish are high in omega-3 fatty acids that work to fight inflammation and further reduce your risk of developing cancer.

Avoid foods that contain high amounts of fats and sugars as they aggravate the body and cause issues such as diabetes and weight gain, along with an increased risk of inflammation.

2. Coffee

Here’s some good news – you might not have to cut back on coffee. Research indicates that indulging in a good amount of coffee can decrease the risk of developing prostate cancer.

However, you might want to switch to decaf because some studies show that high amounts of caffeine can lead to other health problems.

3. Maintain a Healthy Weight

Make sure to exercise regularly and watch your weight with a balanced diet. Exercise will not only keep you physically fit, it will also boost your mood and promote healthy sleeping patterns.

Studies have shown that men who are overweight or obese have an increased risk of developing prostate cancer.

4. Regular Testing

It is important to consult your doctor if you have an increased risk of developing cancer. Your doctor will give you important advice on how to reduce your risks and may provide you with necessary diet restrictions and other advice on keeping your body healthy.

Regular testing done with your doctor will keep you more aware of your situation and will enable early detection of cancerous tumors.

5. Avoid Supplements

Choose healthy foods that contain the essential vitamins and nutrients you need to maintain a healthy diet. There is no real data on taking supplements to prevent certain problems and there are many healthy options out there that will enlighten your taste buds and regulate your bodily functions.
