Q: Do you believe in anti-depressants for kids?
A: Anti-depressants, such as Ritalin, are powerful narcotics and is something I personally do not think I would use without exhausting other options first.  There are many dietary changes, including the Feingold Diet, which parents have had success with.  The Feingold plan helps parents to identify ingredients, such as flavorings and colorings, which may trigger a behavioral response in children.  Many quick-tempered children with attention disorders seem to respond well to the Feingold Program and to other dietary changes.  For more information, visit Feingold.
