Yes, your scalp needs exfoliation, too. This is because your shampoo and conditioner only scratch the surface, but exfoliating cleanses the scalp at the root level. It gently lifts dead cells and soothes the scalp, which lays the foundation for healthy hair growth and improves the texture of your tresses.

When Should You Exfoliate?
No matter what your hair type, you should be exfoliating once a week. However, if you wash your hair less than four times in a week, exfoliate twice.

Hair Scrub DIY

Ingredients:

  • 2tbsp sea salt (removes flaky skin, dandruff, dirt and stimulates hair growth)
  • 1-2tbsp lemon juice (prevents bacterial growth and removes any residue)
  • 1-2tbsp olive oil (moisturizes the scalp and the roots)

Directions:
Mix all the ingredients and gently massage the scalp with it when your hair is wet. Rinse the ingredients and shampoo.
