Lose The Grays With These Home Remedies

Premature graying can make you look and feel significantly older. Attributed to a variety of factors like stress, genetic disposition, vitamin deficiency, and an unhealthy diet, this hair scare usually has you reaching for artificial colorants, or plucking your strands faster than you can tweeze your eyebrows.

But, whether this is a new or old problem, try some simple home remedies to reverse the ordeal, before you reach out for that hair dye.

Coconut Oil & Lemon Juice
Frequency: Once a week
Make It Your Own: Take approximately 3tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice and mix it with some coconut oil; alter the proportions according to the length of your hair. Massage the solution into your scalp and apply it right down to the lengths and ends of your strands. Preferably leave it on overnight, or an hour minimum. Wash as you normally would, using a mild shampoo.

Curry Leaves & Coconut Oil
Frequency: Twice a week
Make It Your Own: Boil coconut oil with a handful of fresh curry leaves, till they are charred. Strain the oil and massage it into your scalp. Leave it on for a minimum 30 minutes to an hour, before washing with a mild shampoo.

Sage & Rosemary
Frequency: Once a week
Make It Your Own: Boil half cup each of the herbs in two cups water; set aside for four hours. Strain and apply the concoction to your hair, leaving it on for 20 minutes before your shampooing routine.
