Keep checking in for more adoptable dogs!
We’re learning all about how to care for deaf pups for Deaf Dog Awareness Week.

We've discovered that dogs born deaf are extremely adaptable and are trained using cool, secret hand signals. Often, deaf dogs are not distracted by the sounds of other dogs barking (but oh yes, they still bark!) Dog foster mom and Z Living contributor Debbie Wolfe shares her family’s experience fostering Lupine in her story Fostering A Deaf Dog Taught My Family To Communicate. Check it out, and learn more about Lupine below.

So, is a Deaf Dog a Fit for Your Home?

Cris Folchitto of Angels Among Us Pet Rescue told us, "Deaf dogs can't hear your words with their ears, but they can feel the love with their hearts. The perfect family will have to have a little extra patience in terms of working with body language, energy, and in keeping the dog always secure and safe. Deaf dogs can't hear approaching vehicles or other dangers. A fenced back yard is ideal. And lots of love!"
