A New Year's Good Deed: Help Us Give Away $$$ To Animal Shelters

by The Z Living Editors

Happy New Year from the set of our new original show Finding Fido! Watch the video above for a special message from show host Seth Casteel.

As our show gets ready to premiere January 17 at 9 PM, we'd love to involve you in a major good deed in the meantime: Helping us give away money and pet food to animal shelters and rescue groups across the US. As the show is all about matching people with shelter dogs — click here to learn more about the show — it's inspired us to get more involved in animal rescue. Getting involved yourself is easy and free!

Use the Hashtag #FindingFido on Social Media and We'll Donate Money to Shelters in Need:

Here's the details: We've been partnering with Greater Good — an independent organization devoted to improving the health and well-being of people, pets, and the planet — and Halo Purely for Pets® to give away $5,000 in cash grants and 9,000 lbs of pet food to animal shelters and rescue groups across the U.S. How to help out? Post a pic of your pet on social media with hashtag #FindingFido and we'll donate $$$ to organizations in need. Go one step further and nominate an animal shelter you admire by including their social handle in your post, too, and they'll automatically be entered into the weekly drawing for a $500 grant plus $6,000 worth of Halo pet food. With your help we can make a real difference in the lives of pets and people this holiday season and beyond.

Our Winning Shelters So Far:

Our third and latest #FindingFido grant winner is One By One Animal Advocates. Congratulations! This organization will win a $500 cash grant and $6300 worth of all natural pet food courtesy of Halo Pets and Freekibble

Thank you to Pamela, above, for posting and participating! (Tell your friends so we can give more shelters New Year gifts!)

Other winning shelters from previous weeks include the Humane Society of McCormick County, nominated by dog-owner Judy Alfredson Haywood, and Central Ohio Pomeranian Rescue, nominated by Lori Sheppard. All shelter winners will be announced during the premiere of Finding Fido on January 17, so tune in at 9PM.  Here's where to watch Finding Fido.
