Rescue Dog Named Bowie Inspire’s Late Musician’s Son

by Nancy Dunham

Bowie, a three-year old dog in Wales, United Kingdom, has caught the heart of his human namesake’s son.

Duncan Jones, the son of music icon David Bowie, recently took to Twitter to ask his followers to consider adopting the dog, a cross between a sighthound and a terrier, reported Time. The homeless dog is available for adoption through Dogs Trust in Bridgend, Wales, but is often overlooked. The reason—like the Starman himself, canine Bowie has two different colored eyes.

“Hoping someone near that dog might be able to help him find a home,” reads one of Jones’ Tweets. “One of those weird ones that got to me.”

Another Jones’ tweet just reads, “Anyone?” with a link to information about Bowie.

Four-legged Bowie, who has one blue eye and one brown eye, loves people and is very energetic, reported WalesOnline. His current caregivers hope that Bowie’s new owners will have plenty of time to spend with him and have the means to let him to run free at times.

"It’s such a shame that Bowie has been overlooked so far, but we’re confident we’ll find a home for him soon,” Angela Wetherall, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Bridgend said in an online statement. She continued, speaking straight to potential adopters, “Not only will you be offering a four-legged friend a happy home, but you will be gaining a new best friend. We don’t see what’s so unlucky about that."
