According to a new study published in the Nutrition journal, drinking a glass of tomato juice every day can help reduce the weight around the waist, without the need to alter your diet or lifestyle.

If you enjoy a glass of juice every morning, then trade it in for a tomato-based concoction. As per the study conducted by China Medical University in Taiwan, women who drank almost half-a-pint of tomato juice every day for eight weeks, lost nearly an inch around their waists. In fact, the tomato juice also helped drop cholesterol levels by about 10%.

Furthermore, researchers observed that after two months, the participants aged between 20 and 30 years, lost almost a pound of fat.

Apart from weight loss benefits, tomatoes carry some potential nutrients that reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease and depression. That said, you now have more than five reasons to include the health drink in your every day food plan.
