Hide The Remote: Instead of gorging on a tub of popcorn in front of the TV, get up and change the channel every time you want to switch over. The remote is your nemesis as it can have you stagnant in front of the idiot box for hours, and slow down your metabolism.

A new study has revealed that sitting on a couch in front of a TV set for hours helps the boys burn over 600 calories and here’s how:

Since men weighed less and had less muscle mass compared to women, they burned more calories while resting, while women burned less than half as many calories.

For the study, doctors observed the energy levels of couples who consumed a 600-calorie meal before doing three hours of cleaning, gym work or watching TV, and noticed that men burned 640 calories, in comparison to women, who used up only 292 calories.

The study also revealed that light housework proved to be as effective as a tough gym workout for both men and women, since moderate continuous activity tends to burn more calories anyways.

So if you are of the opinion that men have it easy when it comes to weight loss, you’re not wrong girlies.
