Mango-Cumin Smoothie

    In summertime it’s important to drink plenty of fluids and eat foods that will help to balance your body’s fluid levels. This means shying away from dehydrating products like sodas and coffee. Switch to a refreshing cumin-mango smoothie that will hydrate your body and awaken your senses. This spicy summer drink also aids digestion and boosts immunity.

    Ingredients:

    • 1/2 cup peeled and chopped raw mango
    • 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
    • 1/2 cup chopped mint leaves
    • 1-2 green chilies, chopped
    • 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin, finely powdered
    • 1/2 teaspoon rock salt
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • Salt to taste

    Preparation:
    Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Process, adding water as needed, until the mixture has the consistency of a thick paste. Add three glasses of water to the mixture, stir will, and let it chill for 30 minutes. Pour mixture over ice cubes and serve immediately. Garnish with mint leaves if desired.
