Try This Kids Homeopathic Headache Remedy

by Rebecca Green
Between the warmer weather and seasonal storms, our kiddos are plagued by persistent headaches this time of year. As a fellow sufferer of migraines, I understand how they feel; but, I hate the idea of constantly turning to traditional medicine to keep our kids healthy—they often don’t do the trick anyway. So we’ve been trying out some home remedies lately and have had great success with this homeopathic mix of essential oils. Plus, our kids love to help make it!
To make our Homeopathic Headache Remedy, you’ll need:
1. Essential oils: peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus;
2. Fractionated coconut oil;
3. An essential oil roller ball bottle; and
4. Color-coded essential oil stickers (optional)

The peppermint oil provides a cooling effect and can help stimulate blood flow when applied topically. Lavender helps your body relax. And the eucalyptus oil opens up nasal passages, working as an expectorant to help relieve sinus pressure. But applying essential oil directly to skin can be an irritant—especially for kids who often have sensitive skin in the first place. The coconut oil helps to dilute the essential oils and gives you an even application as well.

Once you’ve got your ingredients together, start by labeling each oil bottle with a colored circle sticker. The labels aren’t necessary, but they help you keep track of your mixture. Label the roller ball bottle with the same colored stickers. Then add 25 drops of peppermint oil, 15 drops of lavender oil, and 15 drops of eucalyptus oil to the roller ball bottle. Fill the remainder of the bottle with fractionated coconut oil. Add the roller ball bottle topper and give it a good shake.

Apply the mix in a circular motion to each temple, taking care to avoid the eye area. It’s a great homeopathic mix that works wonders to battle headaches and makes for happy, healthy kids. The light pressure of the roller ball helps providing a light massage to the temple area too. Bye bye migraines, hello happy kids!
