RECIPE: Natural Cough-Syrup Recipe Works Magic

  • 1 Navel Orange
  • 1 Lemon
  • 3 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar 
  • 1 Cup of Chopped Ginger
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Tbsp. of Organic Coconut Oil
  • 1 Cup Raw Honey 
  • ¼ Tsp Cayenne Pepper 

Mass produced cough syrups contain tons of chemicals, and aren’t that effective. We know you love to take control for your health and wellness, which is why we’re sharing this antioxidant-heavy, DIY cough suppressant recipe, which you can whip up right in your own home. 


  1. To get all of the antioxidant and cough-relieving qualities of this mix, simply place the chopped orange, lemon, ginger, and cinnamon stick in a pot on medium heat and mash leisurely until juices from the lemon and orange begin to release. 
  2. Let the mixture simmer for eight minutes, then add in your coconut oil and honey and stir until the coconut oil is melted. 
  3. Strain mixture into a container holding your apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper and stir lightly until the last two additives are infused. 


You can use this highly effective DIY cough syrup year round by taking 1-2 Tbsps as needed at room temperature or slightly warmed. Be sure to store in the fridge and utilize within 6 weeks of preparation for best freshness and effectiveness.
