5 Great Causes To Support This Women’s Day

by Fali R.Singara

It’s the biggest day of the year to celebrate being a woman. March 8 is International Women’s Day, and for over a century now, the world honors and reveres the achievements of all women, past, present and future. In many countries it’s a national holiday, and women around the world are getting ready to celebrate the event globally. This year, the International Woman’s Day theme is “Empowering Women – Empowering Humanity: Picture It!” The goal is to create a world where every woman and girl can exercise her choices, such as participating in politics, getting an education, having an income, and living in societies free from violence and discrimination.

Throughout the month of March, hundreds of events from rallies, conferences, cultural displays, music concerts and even art exhibitions are being held in places like Paris, London, Mumbai, Shanghai, Africa and Australia. The good news is, you don’t have to go that far to join in the celebrations.  Across the US, there are a host of events and things to connect, inspire and empower millions of women together. We’ve trawled through them all to bring you five amazing ones that you and your girl friends won’t want to miss. So get a group together, and just go girl!
