For centuries Ayurvedic practitioners have recommended that people receive daily abhyanga massage in order to keep their bodies balanced and healthy and their minds focused. For five days give yourself an abhyanga massage every morning to raise your receptivity. Do it before taking a shower, as it is a warm oil massage. Use either coconut or sandalwood oil (sold at most health food stores).

How to perform an Abhyanga Massage:
1. Warm the oil by holding the container under hot tap water.
2. Apply the oil to your entire body using even pressure and a circular motion of your whole hand, and all five fingers.
3. Spend extra time on the soles of your feet, palms of your hands and nail beds.
4. When you are finished with the massage, wait for 10 minutes before showering, allowing the oil absorb into your skin.
