The World’s Largest Aerobics Class
In August, 2011, a Colombian recreation department named the Instituto Distrital De Recreation Y Deporte set the standing world record for the world’s largest aerobics class. According to Guinness World Records, the 62-minute class attracted 50,420 participants to Simon Bolivar Metropolitan Park in Bogota, Colombia.

The World’s Largest Yoga Class
The record for the world’s largest yoga class was set just over a month ago in India. The Department of Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities hosted the class, which involved a whopping 54,522 participants. This was one of many attempts made around the world to host a massive yoga class for International Yoga Day on June 21st. Those of you who are trying to ohm with a large crowd should keep an ear out for similar classes next Yoga Day.
The World’s Largest Runs
Over the course of history, there have been some massive runs around the world—the largest of which being the Kahit Isang Araw Lang Unity Run, which took place in the Philippines in 2012. It consisted of 209,000 runners.
For an ongoing event you can join in with, check out the next installment of San Francisco’s Bay To Breakers, which had a staggering 110,000 runners in 1986, and continues to draw large crowds today. Last year’s event drew 40,000 runners, which is still an enormous group of people to exercise with.

The World’s Largest Bike Rides
Bringing it back to the cycle, you can join the biggest annual group bike ride on the first Sunday of every month in New York City for the Five Boro Bike Tour. Each year, over 30,000 cyclists gather for a tour of the Big Apple’s five boroughs on streets totally free of cars.
On a more regular basis, LA’s Critical Mass—the ongoing group ride in Los Angeles that Adrianne Ho joined—hosts monthly rides that attract thousands of cyclists. They are slow-paced, 30-mile excursions that will surely get you in the group workout spirit.
