Sure, we all like to book ourselves a spa appointment, every now and then, for that much-needed R&R. That said, the whole affair can turn out to be quite expensive, and sometimes cause inconvenience when it doesn’t fit into our everyday schedule.
Well, for days like those, we have beauty recipes like these, that come straight from a professional menu to provide you a spa-like experience at home:
Rose Water Toner
You Need:
- Rose petals
- 2 cups boiling water
How To:
- Place the rose petals in a cup and make sure they are packed in tight.
- Pour the boiling water on top and fill till the petals are submerged.
- Place a lid on top and set aside till it cools down.
- Now, strain the water in another cup and make sure you squeeze out any remaining water from the petals before discarding them.
- Store the water in a sterilized jar or in a spritz bottle in the refrigerator.
Rose water works as an astringent and will help to keep your pores from clogging. You can dab it on a cotton pad and use as you would a normal toner, or fill it in a spritzer and use it as a face mist.
Face Mask For Hydration
You Need:
- Cold cream
- Yogurt
- Aloe vera
- Honey
- Avocado–peeled and cut in pieces
How To:
- Depending on how much you want to make at a time, add the ingredients in a mixer and blend. Do not add more than 2-3tbsp each for a single preparation.
- Once it turns to a creamy consistency, take it out and store in a glass jar.
- Apply the mix to your face using a foundation brush or your fingertips. Leave it on for 10 minutes before you wash.
The mask will keep your skin feeling soft and hydrated and will give it a natural glow.
Cuticle Cream
You Need:
- A tube of any nail or hand cream that you have
- 1tsp olive oil
- ½ cup lemon juice
How To:
- Empty the cream in a bowl and add the olive oil and lemon juice.
- Mix well till it takes on a creamy consistency.
- Store in an air-tight jar and use as required.
The cream will help moisturize and heal the skin around your cuticles.
With these beauty recipes, you’re all set for some weekend TLC at a fraction of the cost. The only disclaimer is that one must always do a patch test first, to ascertain that he/she is not allergic to any of the ingredients.
