Long or short, straight or curly, thick or thin, your hair will look its lustrous best if you follow these four steps:
- Hydrate. The scalp thirsts for moisture just as much as the rest of the body. Be sure you are drinking enough water and fresh juices.
- Nourish. Eat fresh greens like watercress and spinach and fresh seasonal fruits like peaches, avocados, apples, lychee nuts, and watermelon that can boost hair health.
- Protect. When going outdoors wear a scarf, hat or cap to protect your hair. Limit your use of blow dryers and curling irons. Heat can damage or dry out your hair, so rinse with cool or warm water. Use gentle, organic moisturizing shampoos and indulge in a leave-in conditioner.
- Massage. Before bathing, rub coconut oil into your hair, massaging gently with your fingertips for 15 minutes. This will both relax you and improve blood circulation.
