What would be more perfect than a maple syrup flavored body scrub that’ll go great with this time of year? Aside from it being thematically harmonious with fall, maple syrup has a lot of benefits for your skin as well.

The colder seasons can dry out your skin and make it dull, but one great way to prevent your skin from doing so is with this luxurious homemade body scrub that smells good enough to eat. Let’s get started.

Maple and Spice Sugar Body Scrub

This recipe calls for maple syrup, which helps benefit the skin in many ways. Maple syrup helps lower inflammation and dryness, reducing wrinkles and redness. The brown sugar present adds a gentler exfoliating effect than plain sugar does because of its smaller particles, but it is still strong enough to scrub away dead skin cells.

Pink Himalayan salt contains small minerals that our skin absorbs to help cleanse and balance our pores and sebum production. Mix that with sweet almond oil, which is full of essential vitamins like vitamin E and vitamin A, and it’ll help your skin retain moisture and heal chapped and irritated skin.

Coconut oil and cinnamon are also needed for this recipe because aside from smelling like a decadent dessert, coconut oil has natural antibacterial properties that help protect you from germs. It is also very moisturizing and smells like cookies. Cinnamon is used in this recipe primarily for its smell, but it is also useful for preventing acne and moisturizing dry skin.

  • 1 1/2 cup of raw brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of Himalayan pink salt
  • 1/8 cup of coconut oil (melted)
  • 1/8 cup of sweet almond oil
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon


  1. Add all the ingredients into a small bowl and mix everything together.
  2. Scoop your scrub into a mason jar and store it in the fridge.
  3. Voilá, you have your very own sugar body scrub.

This sugar scrub will last for about a month. If you use it on a consistent basis, you will notice how softer your skin will feel and how good your bathroom will smell too. After your first use, you will notice how vibrant your dull skin will feel and how the overall texture of your skin has improved.
