You need the same beauty products, but in richer formulas to transition your skincare routine into the Fall season, seamlessly. That said, another great trick is to use seasonal ingredients to whip up your skincare solutions, because as is evident, they are built to withstand and thrive in the season; also, they will be easily available and economical, too.

This is exactly why we’re spotlighting pumpkin. The festive vegetable (Halloween, people!) is the perfect go-to during the harvest season, and can be used to make your own hair mask, lip balm, foot scrub, body polish and anti-aging solutions at home.

The Beauty Benefits Of Pumpkin

With all of the above in mind, we venture out on an exploratory trip around the kitchen, to teach you how to whip up multiple beauty solutions using pumpkin as the core ingredient. Scroll on to know all about them.

Pumpkin Hair Mask

Pumpkin Hair Mask: If cold weather can make your skin dry, it can dry up your hair, too. You need a nourishing treatment to keep your ends hydrated, repair damage, and promote quality tresses that are supported by a moisturized scalp. Mix together 1½ cup pureed pumpkin, ¼ cup coconut oil and 2tbsp honey. If it is watery, add more pumpkin puree to the mix. Then, on damp hair, evenly apply the solution from root to tip. Tie up your strands and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before you wash with a mild shampoo and conditioner.

Pumpkin Lip Balm

Pumpkin Lip Balm: In a double boiler, add 2tbsp sweet almond oil and 1tsp beeswax. Once the two have melted, take them off the heat and mix in 1tsp honey and ¼tsp pumpkin spice mix. When you have thoroughly mixed the ingredients, pour the solution in a lip balm container, and use once it takes on an applicable consistency.

Pumpkin Foot Scrub

Pumpkin Foot Scrub: Pamper your feet by getting rid of dead skin cells and nourishing the callouses. In a bowl, take 1½ cup pureed pumpkin and add 1 cup yogurt, ½ cup raw sugar, 2tbsp honey and ¼tsp olive oil. Mix well and it is ready for use. Make the scrub a part of your at-home pedicure session for best results. Massage on damp feet in a circular motion for 10 minutes before washing with warm water.

Pumpkin Body Polish

Pumpkin Body Polish: The environment, diet and stress can make your skin look dull. This pumpkin body polish will help give you an inherent radiance and make your skin appear healthier. What you need are a few natural ingredients—1 small organic papaya that is mashed. 1 cup ground pumpkin seeds and ¼ cup olive oil. Mix the ingredients well until the consistency is thick. Gently massage the paste on your body. Leave it on for 20 minutes before you rinse with tepid water. The antioxidant-rich mixture brings out the natural glow by getting rid of dead cells and nourishing the skin.

Pumpkin Face Mask

Pumpkin Face Mask: Prepare a revitalizing face mask to hydrate the skin and reverse the signs of aging. Halve a pumpkin and scoop out the seeds. Cut the pumpkin into chunks, place in a food processor and puree. Add 1tbsp honey and 1tsp pumpkin spice to the mix and stir. Apply the solution to a clean face, neck and chest. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Apply it every week to lock in nutrients and moisture for clear skin.
