DIY Healthy Protein Smoothies to Help You Gain Weight

Whether you’re looking to build more muscle, or simply just want to gain weight for your own reasons, a healthy protein shake should be on the menu as you work toward your weight gain goals.

Just because you want to put on weight doesn’t mean your diet can be filled with pizza and doughnuts every day.

As you’re heading to the grocery store to look for ingredients, avoid heading straight to the sweets aisle and remain cautious with the foods you are looking to buy.

You’re still trying to stay healthy and eating processed and sugary foods will only impair your immune system, affect your heart health and make you gain weight in a way that you might not be very happy about.

Delicious to drink and easy to make, having the right ingredients for your protein smoothie will make all the difference to help you stay on track.

DIY Healthy Weight Gain Protein Smoothies

All you need is a blender and some delicious ingredients to get you started on boosting your daily calorie intake.

1. Chocolate Protein Shake

You will need: 

  • 2 scoops chocolate ice cream
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon peanut butter
  • 10 ice cubes
  • 300 milliliters milk

Add all the ingredients into a blender and blend together until thick. Drink one or two times daily.

2. Avocado and Berry Yogurt Smoothie

You will need:

  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup mixed berries
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder

Add all the ingredients to a blender until creamy.

3. Walnut Protein Smoothie

You will need:

  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1 cup of walnuts
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 apple
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Soak the walnuts in water for 30 minutes. Add all the ingredients into a blender to mix. Blend until the walnuts are completely blended for a smooth shake.

4. Banana Shake

You will need:

  • 1 or 2 mashed bananas
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt

Add all the ingredients to a blender until creamy.

5. Paleo Protein Shake

You will need:

  • 1 banana
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup almond milk

Add the nuts to a blender first until they are blended. Add all the ingredients, with protein powder last in the line up in order for it to mix well with the other ingredients.

6. Berry, Banana and Oat Protein Smoothie

You will need:

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 peach
  • 2 scoops protein powder

Add the oats to a blender first until they are blended. Add all the other ingredients until blended to a smooth mixture.
