If you’re anything like our team of writers, there’s a good change you’re an 80’s kid and have grown up with some really kick-ass music. There’s also a pretty good chance that high school, through college, you spent hours listening to the upbeat tunes of Usher, Lady Gaga, FloRida and a whole bunch of artists that were probably just discovering their sound.

Remember Rihanna before her “Bitch Better Have My Money” days, or when JT brought sexy back? Yea, we thought so! That’s the music that really formed the core of our listening, and helped shape our taste in what we considered hip hop and pop back then.

Now, if you’re an 80’s kid, and are looking for some nostalgia for those workouts, here’s a list of songs that aren’t only adrenaline pumping, they prove that music between 2000-2010 was top notch! From usher, Lady Gaga, Benny Benassi, FloRida and Eric Prydz, here’s a list of songs that should definitely make it to your playlist.

Eric Prydz – Call On Me (2004)

Eric Prydz – Call On Me (2004): Okay, this may not be as well-known as a lot of other songs but watch the video once, and it’s bound to become a cult classic. But if a good workout is what you’re after, it definitely calls for this song. With women in leotards, showing off their toned booty, while exercising, it isn’t rocket science to figure out that this dance song can be the perfect fuel your workout needs.

Lady Gaga – Just Dance (2008)

Lady Gaga – Just Dance (2008): This one’s pretty straight forward—just dance! The lyrics of the song are nothing to really go by, but if you’re looking for something light and fun, this is just the track you’re looking for. With a great rhythm and tempo, this song doesn’t merely want you to get up and dance, it makes for the perfect 3 odd minutes to tune out distractions and focus on the task at hand.

Flo Rida ft. T-Pain – Low (2007)

Flo Rida ft. T-Pain – Low (2007): If you’re a fan of the Step Up films, you’re definitely remember this song. After all, it’s what the final dance battle took place to. It’s got booty talk, it’s got some killer dance moves, and it’s perhaps one of the most danced-to tracks of the year. And when you have girls in apple bottom jeans, is it really any surprise that those working out to the song won’t try to get the same? Think about it!

Benny Benassi – Satisfaction (2003)

Benny Benassi – Satisfaction (2003): Any millennial worth their birthdate knows Benny Benassi. And if you’re looking for a satisfying workout, you cannot give this song a miss. It’s pretty simple. The song is designed to make you sweat. And when you have scantily clad women working power tools, there’s really no reason to avoid this song, is there?

Usher ft. Ludacris – Yeah (2004)

yeah usher

Usher ft. Ludacris – Yeah (2004): Oh yeah, now we’re talking. If you haven’t heard this song, please crawl back under that rock from which you came. Okay seriously, this iconic tune was a staple in every club when the song was first released. And for good reason. The rather crude lyrics and bass pumping beats is all you really need when you’re pounding down on the treadmill. Besides, music that can make you dance does tend to stir up fond memories, a welcome distraction when you’re trying to complete that last set.
