Losing weight after your second pregnancy proves to be doubly hard for some women, considering the excessive stress the body has already been through. Your skin has stretched to its limits and shrank twice over, so we’re not even going to try to get preachy about getting back into pre-pregnancy shape.

Although, we would recommend finding your muse with celebrity mommies, because it will help you pick from a variety of workouts to keep things interesting. While Kourtney Kardashian was making news for reaching the 120lb mark after her third baby, we’ve now heard that Shakira too, is keen to get back into shape after her second child, whom she gave birth to in late January.

The truth is, the sooner you get on an exercise program after delivering, the better your chances of shaking off that weight; this is exactly why celebrity moms are quick to sign up for fitness classes within months of delivery.

Shakira’s Plan Of Action
The singer has called upon her trusted partner in crime, Anna Kaiser of AKT InMotion, who was instrumental in helping Shakira lose the baby weight after her son Milan was born.

Kaiser is creating a custom workout which includes high-intensity cardio dance routines and strength training, to make the most of Shakira’s flexibility and ability to adapt to any dance form. Her sessions begin with 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening, which after a few weeks are expanded to 60-minute workouts, twice a day. Shakira alternately resorts to paddleboard yoga, playing sports, kickboxing, hip hop or Pilates to keep things interesting.

As for her diet, Kaiser monitors it to 200-300 calories per meal, five to six times a day. These small meals help Shakira stay away from impulse cravings and keep her energy levels up.

Kaiser’s secret to success relies on steadily increasing the stamina and strength of her celebrity clients—Kelly Ripa, Shakira and Sarah Jessica Parker—in order to rev up their endurance. So, give it a few more months and we’re sure that Shakira will be flaunting a perfectly toned body with some real power underneath her clothes.
