Seek out…

  1. Fresh fruits and vegetables
  2. Beans: tofu, adzuki, lentils
  3. Grains: rice, wheat and oats
  4. Nuts and seeds: almonds, walnuts, pecans, sesame and coconut
  5. Dairy products in moderation, including milk, butter, yogurt and cottage cheese
  6. Natural sugars like honey, maple syrup, molasses and jaggery
  7. Spices: ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, fennel, cumin, coriander, turmeric, mint, basil and fenugreek
  8. Herbal teas, natural water and fresh juices


  1. Too much meat, fish and eggs
  2. Artificial, processed and junk foods
  3. Sodas (including cola)
  4. Canned food, frozen food and food kept in refrigerator for too long
  5. Poor quality oils, animal fats and margarine
  6. Fried and over-spiced food
  7. White sugar and artificial sweeteners
  8. Cold, old, stale and reheated food
  9. Too much alcohol
