    These pound cake stars are the perfect 4th of July dessert to celebrate with this Independence Day. They’re a simple treat to whip up and the kids will love helping you decorate them.

    To create these mini star cakes, you’ll want to use pound cake slices, a star cookie cutter, whipped cream, and fresh berries.

    You’re free to make the pound cake yourself or you can buy a pre-sliced loaf at the grocery store. Pound cake slices like these can typically be found in your grocery store’s bakery section.

    Once you’ve cut out the star shapes from your pound cake, you’ll simply smear some whipped cream on top (homemade or store-bought), then decorate the stars with fresh strawberry slices and blueberries.

    We recommend only decorating the star cakes shortly before you’re going to serve them, as fresh berries tend to bleed into the cream when they’re stored overnight. You can assemble this 4th of July dessert a few hours before you’ll be serving them, then keep them refrigerated until dessert time.
