This quick apple chips recipe yields a healthy and tasty snack to munch on. Instead of reaching for a bag of potato chips, enjoy these cinnamon apple chips.
You only need two to three ingredients to whip up these dried apple chips, sometimes referred to as apple crisps — apples, cinnamon, and coconut sugar. You can make these even healthier by making no sugar apple chips and eliminating the coconut sugar. Just make sure you choose apples that are ripe and sweet; we prefer McIntosh apples for this recipe.
We also keep this recipe healthy by using the oven rather than hot oil to crisp the apples. These baked apple chips are a lot leaner than fried apple chips, which makes us feel good about enjoying these as a healthy snack during the week.
To create really crispy apple chips, you may want to look into using a dehydrator. Learning how to make crispy apple chips in the dehydrator can help you achieve that extra crunch. We don’t mind these apple chips remaining on the slightly softer for the pure convenience and ease of just using our home oven.

Ingredients
- 4 apples cored and sliced 1/8” thick
- 1-2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1-2 tsp coconut sugar optional
- cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°F. To a large bowl, add the apple slices, cinnamon, and sugar (if using). Toss the apple slices in this cinnamon and sugar until they're coated in the mixture.
- Grease a baking sheet with the cooking spray, then arrange the apple slices on the pan. Make sure the apple slices are not overlapping; if they are, use a second sheet.
- Bake the apple slices for 2 to 3 hours until the chips are dry but still soft. When they're done baking, allow them to cool completely at room temperature before storing them in an airtight container (up to 4 days).
