    1. Pour the milk and water into a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add in the chopped apple too. Once the mixture is near boiling, lower the heat to medium-low and stir in the oats.
    2. Stir the oatmeal occasionally as the oats cook for a few minutes. Once much of the liquid has been absorbed and the oats have cooked, stir in the ground cinnamon and maple syrup. Serve warm.
