BBQ Meatballs Recipe for Game Day

    Monday night football is all about football, of course, but it’s also about really good eats. Hassle-free finger foods like these easy bbq meatballs are the perfect choice when you’re looking for simple food that’s effortless to eat while you watch the game.

    While queso dip and chips are often a staple during a watch party, so are heartier options like these barbecue meatballs. These crockpot bbq meatballs can be prepared in no time and left in a slow cooker for several hours.

    When these slow cooker bbq meatballs come out of the pot, they’re sticky, sweet, and absolutely irresistible. While you can make the meatballs from scratch, there are plenty of store-bought versions that work just as well. We like buying frozen meatballs to complement the overall ease and convenience of the entire recipe.

    Unlike most bbq meatballs made with grape jelly, we follow a different meatball bbq sauce recipe using ketchup. We find the ketchup works better for these sweet and sour bbq meatballs.

    After you’ve whisked up the sauce ingredients for the meatballs, it’s just a matter of combining the sauce with the frozen meatballs inside the slow cooker. Set the slow cooker to low for about 4 to 5 hours and then serve up a big plate of these bbq meatballs for game night!

    1. In a medium bowl, whisk the ketchup, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and Dijon mustard together until combined.
    2. Dump the frozen meatballs into your slow cooker, then pour the sauce all over. Stir everything together so that the meatballs are coated in the sauce.
    3. Set the slow cooker to low for 4 hours. Check for doneness and add another hour if needed (larger meatballs may need more time).
