When the weather is chilly and you’re bundled up inside, there’s nothing better than a warm chai latte to help you stay toasty. Filled with aromatic fall spices, this vegan chai latte recipe is a heavenly hot beverage to enjoy any day of the week.

Chai, which is a type of Indian tea, is a delectable drink you can find at almost any coffee shop. It’s usually more than just a simple combination of tea and milk.

You’ll often find spices like cinnamon and/or cardamom in the chai latte, which add greater flavor and aroma to the milk and tea blend. Some coffee shops make their chai lattes really spicy, while others create a more subdued version.

At home, you can control just how much of each spice you want to add to your drink. You also have the ability to swap in almond milk so that you can make a vegan chai latte recipe like this.

For our vegan chai latte, we’ve added a blend of cinnamon, ginger, and allspice for that classic fall flavor profile. For sweetness, we used maple syrup as a natural sweetener, but you could also use brown sugar if you don’t have any maple syrup on hand. Be sure to taste test your vegan chai latte and adjust the amount of syrup or sugar that you use to your own personal preference.

For the best results, we recommend enjoying this chai latte hot after brewing with a dollop of non-dairy whipped topping.
