Anyone who has ever eaten a potato chip knows just how addicting potato chips can be. Luckily, when you make homemade potato chips in an air fryer, you don’t have to feel guilty about indulging in more than one chip.
Potato chips are famous for their salty flavor and crunchy texture. While each chip tends to be paper thin, the chip’s traditionally high-fat, fried nature makes it an unhealthy snack.
Thanks to the air fryer, however, you can still be healthy and enjoy potato chips. Instead of frying the potatoes in hot oil, you can cook them in the air fryer with less than a tablespoon of oil.
The homemade potato chips you’ll create in the air fryer will be just as crisp and irresistible as the fried kind but will have nowhere near the amount of grease and fat that the fried kind has. More than that, making the potato chips in the air fryer is a lot less messy (and a lot less dangerous) than frying potato slices in a pot of very hot oil.
If you’ve never used an air fryer before, take note that you never want to overcrowd the air fryer with whatever ingredient you’re cooking. Instead, if your air fryer basket looks like it is getting too full, separate your ingredients into batches for the best results.
