Who doesn’t love a warm, cheesy slice of pizza straight out of the oven? If you and your family enjoying making pizza at home, then you’ll definitely want to give this mushroom pizza recipe a try.

This mushroom pizza is loaded with garlic-sautéed mushrooms and two different types of cheeses — mozzarella and ricotta cheese. The mozzarella provides that stretchy quality we love in a cheese pizza, while the ricotta adds a touch of creaminess.

Other cheeses that also work well include goat cheese and fresh burrata cheese. A sprinkle of grated parmesan as a finishing touch is always welcome.

In addition to a selection of cheeses, we like to use fragrant herbs like oregano and thyme to provide depth in flavor and an earthy touch to the pizza. You can always add a dry herb mix like herbes de Provence too if that’s what you have on hand.

Using store-bought pizza crust makes this mushroom pizza really easy to whip up. If you want to make a gluten-free version, you can easily swap in a cauliflower crust. If you want to make the pizza vegan-friendly, just use your favorite vegan cheeses.

    1. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Grease a baking sheet with a little bit of olive oil or cooking spray. Sprinkle cornmeal in the pan.
    2. In a medium pan over medium heat, melt the butter then add the garlic. Sauté for about 20 seconds until the garlic is fragrant. Add in the mushrooms, thyme, and oregano and cook until the mushrooms are tender; about 5 minutes. Add a pinch of salt and pepper and give everything a stir.
    3. On a lightly floured or greased board, roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch diameter. Transfer to the baking sheet.
    4. Add dollops of the ricotta and the fresh mozzarella to the top of the pizza dough. Follow with the mushrooms.
    5. Bake the pizza for 15 to 20 minutes or until the pizza crust is golden brown and the cheeses have melted.
