The Fourth of July is one holiday that most kids will love—the parades, the parties and most of all, the fireworks. 1. Americafest At The Rose Bowl
Americafest will feature classic American food, a live motorcycle stunt show and the biggest fireworks display in southern California. The Rose Bowl opens at 2pm on Independence Day, giving access to a variety of inflatable rides, games and crafts for children. There will also be a movie screening of the hit animated film, Despicable Me 2.

2. Late Night Barbecue At An Aquarium
The Aquarium of the Pacific hosts a Fourth of July barbecue, in addition to late-night aquarium access and a fish-eye view of the Queen Mary fireworks display. Wave the flag, watch the fireworks, and enjoy some fresh grills here. The kids will have a great time inside the aquarium. The 6pm cookout will have classic summer treats like hot dogs and coleslaw, and a kid-friendly menu.

3. Pet & Toy Parade
On Sunday, the city of Newton will come alive with Independence Day activities. The morning is dedicated to children with a grand pet parade, a teddy bear parade, a decorated doll carriage promenade, foot races and free ice cream. The afternoon will see an open-air market with food vendors and amusement rides.

4. Cruise Fun
Enjoy a day of family-friendly activities and live entertainment on July 4. Take your children to view the different eras of Independence such as 20’s Gatsby Garden, 30’s Hush Hush Cotton Club, and 2010’s Country-themed Ranch Tailgate. There will be strolling performers, live music, dance classes, a vintage traveling circus and carnival and a fireworks show.

5. Legoland
What can be better for a child than spending the day playing at Legoland and partaking in special rides and shows? There will be musical performances, patriotic costume contests, and all-American family picnic games like water-balloon tosses, burlap sack races, Lego hamburger relay and more. The fireworks will begin at 8.30pm and are set to a patriotic musical tribute.

6. Party In The Park
Andover will celebrate the Fourth of July with lots of family activities. Start the day with a pancake breakfast, followed by Jazz music, games in the park, and round it off with a concert. Their annual “Jerry Silverman” Independence Day Fireworks display will take place at dusk on July 3, at the Andover High School.

7. Hula Hoop
Enjoy a fun, free and totally festive community party by the Cal Anderson Park Alliance. The grand event will feature live music. There will be poi spinning and hula hooping lessons, a real fire truck, hot dog feast, face painting, a pie eating contest, balloon artistry, patriotic portraits, a marching band and more. In addition, look out for a root beer tasting garden.

8. Heritage Day Parade
Issaquah’s annual Independence Day celebration starts off with The Swedish Hospital Kids ‘n Pets Parade—pets accompanied by costumed children on decorated floats, bikes, scooters and wagons. Post the parade, head to the Veterans’ Memorial Park for pony rides, bouncy houses, water balloons, gunnysacks and three legged races, a hay hunt and even enter your pet slug in the official Slug Speed Race and Beauty Pageant. Finish the day with a pie-eating contest.
