Whether its stress that keeps you up at night or insomnia, here’s a simple remedy that will help you sleep better—lavender oil.

This oil has a fresh, sweet floral fragrance, and is known for its relaxing and therapeutic effects among many others. Lavender is also an adaptogen, which means it can help your body adapt better when exposed to stress or imbalance. Many studies have claimed that it has sleep aiding properties. To use, all you have to do is rub two or three drops of the essential oil in your cupped palms and inhale it’s scent. This will calm your mind and act as a mild natural sedative, which will soon trigger you to fall asleep. You can also rub a drop or two of lavender oil on your pillow case instead on your palm for the same soothing effect. Better still, use it in a diffuser for sound sleep.

If your baby has trouble sleeping, you can use this calming concoction on your child too without worrying about any major side-effects. This method is natural and safe, however, consult with your doctor  before using it on the baby’s skin.
