Directions:

  • Position the person receiving the massage on his or her abdomen, on a massage table or on a mat on the floor.
  • Begin with long, sweeping strokes that cover the entire back.
  • Rub your palms together, then lay them on the back.
  • Knead the back muscles deeply, for a more penetrating effect.
  • Hit the back gently and rhythmically with cupped hands or fists.
  • Move the heel of your palms or sides of your hands forward and backward across the skin to loosen the muscles.
