Fall marks the beginning of festivities and is the perfect time to consider redecorating your home or office space to welcome the new season. From big changes like painting the walls to smaller ones like switching up your decor and incorporating seasonal items, decorating for fall can be a fun affair.
Go Bold With Colors
With the leaves gradually turning to shades of yellow and orange, you can incorporate the bold shades in your home by painting a room or even a door in hues of orange or yellow.
Try an Accent Wall
If painting a whole room bright orange is too extreme for your taste, try painting an accent wall in the living room and enjoy the pop of color.
Sage Green Indicates Fall
Visualize a vibrant orange wall and a sage green sofa in front of it; feels like fall, doesn’t it? You could use green cushions or throws too.
Switch Out Rugs
If painting the walls or changing the furniture is not feasible, consider switching your rugs to incorporate fall colors. Pick vibrant shades of red or yellow or choose subtler shades like mustard or burnt orange for a rustic look.
Add Plaid
An easy way to incorporate the colors of fall is by adding a plaid throw to your existing couch or a blanket on your bed for an instant change of decor.
Jewel Tones Offer a Luxurious Look
If bright fall colors aren’t your cup of tea, look for jewel tones like amethyst, ruby, sapphire and emerald for a luxurious look. These can be incorporated as paint colors, drapes, cushions or lamp shades.
Don’t Shy Away From Reds
According to feng shui, red is perfect for your entrance as it can attract the right kind of attention and opportunities. Consider placing red cushions on your porch swing or bench, add a rug at the door or place flower arrangements with red hues.
Decorate Your Dining Table
Fall is a time for entertaining, so don’t forget to decorate your dining table with pumpkins, gourds, dried leaves, candles and branches for the perfect fall table.
Do More With Pumpkins
Pumpkins are not just for jack o’ lanterns, you can incorporate them into your fall decor outside the house, table setting or display in your foyer. You could also create a beautiful planter with faux or real pumpkins for an authentic fall display.
Add a Chalkboard Sign for a Rustic Look
Almost any surface can be turned into a chalkboard with the chalkboard paint from craft stores. Pick an old frame you no longer use or buy an inexpensive frame, paint it and place it at the entrance to welcome fall and your guests. You could use smaller chalkboards as place settings for your fall gatherings too.
Add One or More Wreaths
Make your own seasonal wreath(s) with natural elements like leaves, twigs, sheaves of wheat, acorns and more for a unique front door or window display.
Get Crafting
Rope the kids in to create fun fall crafts like painted votive candle holders, leaf and acorn garlands, clay dishes adorned with fall leaves and more.
