Autumn is the best time of the year for food festivals; it’s harvest season and you can get your hands on the freshest of produce. Why not pack your bags and travel to one of these locations to experience their culinary offerings? Gear up for some wonderful beer and wine, grills and roasts, pumpkin pies and more.

1. Fantastic Fungi, Washington
Fungi flourishes on Washington’s southern coast every fall, and Long Beach Peninsula is home to a wide variety of fungi. The region’s annual Wild Mushroom Celebration celebrates everything that’s, of course, mushroom! This year, the festival will have wild mushroom hikes and special chef-inspired menus and workshops .All this while enjoying fresh seafood delights, the stunning Pacific Northwest scenery, and a 28-mile sandy beach.

2. Groves Pecan Festival, Texas
Fun in a Nutshell is the theme of the Groves Pecan Festival at Groves, Texas. The event will see a festive parade, pie-eating contest, cooking with pecans, a pet show, a craft area, a horseshoe tournament and a treasure hunt besides loads of great food. Think funnel cakes, snow cones, pecan pie, curly fries, gumbo, hamburgers, barbecue, pork-a-bobs, boudin balls and nachos.
When: November 5 to 8

3. The National Peanut Festival, Alabama
Dothan is known as the peanut capital of the world and The National Peanut Festival honors local peanut farmers and celebrates the harvest season. The 10-day event will see amusement rides, animal attractions, agricultural displays, concerts (Chris Janson, the Mardhall Tucker Band and Tyler Farr), livestock shows and a parade.  There are also food drives and donations scheduled. For something out of the ordinary, look out for the Calf and Greased Pig scramble race.
When: November 6 to 15

4. The Kona Coffee Cultural Festival, Hawaii
This is Hawaii’s oldest food festival and is a celebration of the history of Kona’s 200-year-old world-famous brew. Look for art shows, a farm tour, talent shows and lots to do with coffee – sampling Kona Coffee from over 30 farms, coffee picking, and other fun games.
When: November 6 to 15

5. PA Bacon Fest, Pennsylvania
The PA Bacon Fest is one of those culinary events that attracts pig-loving attendees from all over the country. Well-behaved, bacon-loving dogs are also welcome! The festival’s goal is to promote local, sustainable farms, farm-to-table food, restaurants, and purveyors. Expect local farms, pasture-raised bacon, vendors, chef demos, contests, and obviously, loads and loads of bacon. Fancy some bacon candy, bacon ice cream, bacon cupcakes or home-brewed bacon beer?
When: November 7 to 8

6. Seed Food and Wine Wynwood, Miami Beach
Here’s a weekend adventure for people who want to enjoy conscious, sustainable, plant-based living. There will be cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, celebrity chef dinners, craft beer and spirits tastings, a veggie burger battle, fitness to body care, workshops, yoga, urban gardening, a 5k run, kids day and much more. The focus of the line-up is to showcase the beauty of the tropical paradise that is Miami. All the food at the festival will be plant-based (vegan) and mostly organic and non-GMO certified.
When: November 18 to 22
